Only Part of the Drive Data Can Be Accessed

Data Recovery after delete, format or missing files

Just the other day, I inserted my external HDD into my computer for copying some important files. However, the problem rose. As I tried to open one of the main folders on this drive, it asked me to format it. Immediately, I tried the rest of file folders. They all could work well as before. Can someone help me out? Thank you in advance!
If files are lost during moving them to other places, you still have chance to get them back.

Lost data? How to restore them?

When you lose some of your information, you need to try data recovery software that can restore data from the drive.

What else shall we do

(1). Back up all your accessible data on this drive at first.
Preparing a data backup can avoid farther data loss in the process of fixing your drive.
(2). Disconnect it to another computer and see whether it works well.
If you still get the same result, it is surely your drive problem.
(3). Use software to help you out.
There are many professional recovery programs, which can help restoring your data. If you are not sure or doubt it, you can search your problem on the internet or read some related articles of recovery stuff as a reference, such as “Data Recovery Freeware”, “ExternalHard Disk Is now RAW File System”, and “Free to Recover Photos and Videos from Formatted Memory Card”, etc.
(4). Format this drive.
Formatting can return your drive to its original state. Therefore, you can format it to see whether it can work well as before.
(5). Copy back your data from the backup.
You can copy back your data from the back up. But you should note not to store it on this drive. Since it has this problem, it becomes not so faithful.

With the data recovery software recommended above, you can recover files from an SD card when SD card shows blank and reports unsupported file system
