How Do I Format a RAW SD Card into NTFS?

SD card is widely used in digital camera and mobile phone, so data loss from SD card becomes a common problem. Data loss from SD card can be caused by many reasons such as accidentally delete, mistakenly format, SD card is infected by virus or SD card is corrupted. Today I would like to tell another reason for data loss from SD card, that is RAW SD card. As we know a normal file system should be FAT (FAT16 / 32) of NTFS, so there is something wrong with your SD card if your SD card becomes unreadable due to RAW filesystem.

I have a 32GB SD card which was FAT32 before, but I wanted to convert it into NTFS because of the size limitation of FAT32. Unfortunately I didn’t format it into NTFS successfully because when I was trying to do this, I just get the message "Windows was unable to format this drive". I don’t know the reason for this message. When I checked my SD card after that, I found it has been converted into RAW file system. How can I format a RAW SD card into NTFS?

A visitor of my blog wrote this question. There are many reasons for the RAW file system, but I will not list them here, if you are interested about it, you can keep reading my other related articles. Here I would like to share software which can perfectly solve this problem, which is data recovery program. With data recovery program, you can easily recover data from a RAW blank SD card. You may ask me "I just want to format a RAW SD card into NTFS, why do you recommend a data recovery tool to me?" Please be patient! Of course there are some applications can help you format a RAW SD card into NTFS, but can you afford to lose all the data from your SD card? You can use data recovery program to recover the data firstly. Then format the SD card and your SD card will be as its original state.

Free to Recover SD Card Files from Raw
Step 1: Free download and install the data recovery program on your computer. Run the software and choose a proper recovery module to continue.
Step 2: Connect SD card to the computer via a card reader or a USB cable. Select the SD card and click the "Recover" option. Then you just need to wait while the software is scanning automatically.
Step 3: After the scanning, all the found files will be displayed. Preview them by clicking "File Preview" option to see if they are right what you want.
Step 4: Select all the files you want to recover and click the 'Recover' option to get them back.

Don’ts:
1.   Don’t add new data to the SD card.
2.   Don’t format the SD card before all the data has been successfully recovered if the data is important to you.
3. Don’t save the recovered files to the SD card in case of overwriting.
